  • SEC 2016: a full HD Congress with record-breaking participation

The 17 conference rooms for the Cardiovascular Diseases Congress, that recently came to a close in Zaragoza, included high definition audiovisuals and also enabled the over 600 speakers to give their presentations on widescreen format.

The improved image quality in all the rooms was highly discernible and relied on the advanced presentation systems already introduced years ago that include, among other features, dynamic electronic signage on conference room doors, overflow areas from where to immediately follow the sessions remotely, and the integral recording of all the congress sessions for subsequent online broadcasting.

With over 3,600 attendees, this year the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) Congress reached record participation, after three years of continuous growth, leaving behind previous years of recession. There was a remarkable increase in the participation of residents and young cardiologists that heralds a great future for this congress.

A broad training programme was made available for cardiologists, family doctors, and primary care physicians, researchers, internists, epidemiologists, Resident Medical Interns and nurses during the three intense congress days, which consisted of over 180 sessions and approximately 1,600 presentations.

The programme also included major sessions to review the latest developments in cardiovascular medicine as well as a number of practical and participative sessions directed at smaller groups that through the presentation of case studies, the use of interactive systems, advanced simulation, etc., offered training that can be directly applied to the daily clinical practice.
